What is Let’s Spread Love?
Let’s feed Bengaluru is a volunteer group where people from different backgrounds take some time out of their regular life and come together to help the needy people of Bangalore with a good meal once a month.
Who all are involved in this?
People like you and I who work for different companies, run their own business, students and anybody who has an intent to bring a change in a needy person’s life. There is nothing special about us but there is something very special about what we do to make the needy smile. You will be there soon!
Can I donate Money?
Absolutely No! We do not expect anybody to make any monetary contribution.
We need something more precious than money: Your Time and the desire to help 🙂
I cannot cook at home. Can I buy food from restaurants?
Yes, you can order freshly prepared vegetarian food from any reputed restaurant.
How much time of my Sunday?
If you wish to be a donor, it’s the time you take to cook a meal for your family. If you wish to be a volunteer, it’s about 3 hours and if you would like to be both, the calculation is not a tough one.
Who is a donor?
A donor is a person who contributes homemade food. Any number of meals are accepted.
1 container is equal to a stomach full of happiness to 1 hungry kid. That is how we look at it.
Who is a volunteer?
A volunteer is a person who comes to your place to pick up the food you have packed. Volunteers also take part in the distribution process which is the biggest and the most promising challenge.
Some of the places where we would need help are: Food Collection and Distribution, Volunteer and Donor Coordination, Photography, Musicians, Skill Developers/Trainers, Content, Communication, Creatives, Website building, Digital Marketing etc.
I see the word “containers” in the above answers. Would I need to buy them?
These are 750 ml containers which can have enough cooked food to feed a person.
You can purchase these Packing Container from any local shop/supermarket.
Can I make non vegetarian food?
No. When the kids open these boxes, we would like them to share the same joy and not let any “luck” factor prevail.
Is LFB all about serving food to the people living in the slums of Bangalore?
Absolutely not. There is a lot more to this beautiful place. Above all it helps us realize how food is still the basic necessity of life for so many people. It makes us look into reality a lot more closely than we normally do, leaving us with questions that make life a lot more valuable, a lot more special.
We also conduct awareness sessions, free dental check-ups/treatments, educational sessions, skill development sessions and conducts various other fun activities across various places.
I have filled the forms. What next? How can I contribute as a volunteer or donor? Help me with a list of opportunities.
After you fill up the Volunteer form, you will become a part of the relevant WhatsApp groups that will help you keep updated with the latest happenings. Some of the places where we would need help are: Food Collection and Distribution, Volunteer and Donor Coordination, Photography, Musicians, Skill Developers/Trainers, Content, Communication, Creatives, Website building, Digital Marketing etc.
Once you register as a Food Donor, you will get an SMS from us, 10 days before the food donation event. If you are available, you can register for that event. If you’re not available for some reason, you’ll contacted again when we have our next event.
At what time do you collect the food?
We would like to collect the food around 11:00 AM. This is done to ensure that it is delivered at the distribution site by 12:30 PM – We don’t want to keep those kids and elderly waiting for long 🙂
Where do you distribute?
We distribute the food packets in different areas where economically weaker section of the society resides.
Where all do you collect from?
Any place in and around Bangalore. We have volunteers who are ready to pick up the food from across the city.
